Terms of Service

In order to ensure that you consistently receive the best service and care, we have outlined below a few terms that we need your help with… Please let us know if any of these terms are a concern for you so we may deal with your individual needs. Thank you for your understanding.

Appointments, cancellations and delays

If you need to change your plans, would you please give us 24 hours notice? Appointments not attended or cancelled at the last minute may incur an administrative charge of €40.

For longer appointments (1 hour or more) a valid credit or debit card number must be provided.

We know your time is precious and we endeavour to keep waiting times to a minimum. Occasionally a longer delay might be unavoidable – in this case we will try to ring you and let you know – conversely we would appreciate a call from you if you think you are going to be delayed.

Fees

All accounts must be settled on the day of treatment. Accounts older than 10 working days incur an administrative charge of 10%, minimum €20.

A course of treatment that requires several visits can be paid for in instalments; a deposit must be paid at the initial visit and the treatment must be paid in full before its completion.

In special situations a payment plan can be arranged. However, this must be agreed on and arranged before the treatment starts.

Receipts and claim forms

All payments will receive a receipt at the time of payment. Detailed receipts on head noted paper necessary for insurance purposes and various claim forms will be issued upon request.

Emergency Visits

A mobile number is available for emergencies. Please note that visits outside our normal working hours incur a call out charge in addition to the treatment fee.

Consent

Certain treatments will require a written consent.

PRSI

You are entitled to one free check up every 12 months. If a professional cleaning is carried out at the same time a reduction in the price of cleaning may apply.

Please note that the check-up may not be adequate if the teeth are covered by plaque - problems may not be detected unless the teeth are freshly clean. Sometimes you may need more than one visit to completely clean the teeth. Cleaning carried out at any other time is full price per session.

Medical Card Holders

You are entitled to one check-up in a calendar year and some routine treatments such as fillings (2 each year), root canal treatments in your front teeth and extractions as necessary.

Professional cleaning is no longer covered. If you have your teeth cleaned at the same time as your annual check-up it is just over half the normal price. Please note that the check-up may not be adequate if the teeth are covered by plaque – problems may not be detected unless the teeth are freshly clean. Sometimes you may need more than one visit to completely clean the teeth. Cleaning carried out at any other time is the full price per session.

We have been advised by the HSE that if you require a consultation with the dentist outside of these times that does not result in a treatment which is covered, you are required to pay for the visit. Also any other treatments which are not covered by the Medical Card will need to be paid for on the day of treatment.

The Medical Card DOES NOT cover children under 16 years in a private dental practice. They can be seen for free in the HSE clinics:

Dental Update

Did you know that if you are a full medical card holder and at least 16 years old you are entitled to one check-up and two fillings each year, amongst other things?

If you are a PAYE worker your PRSI entitles you to one free check-up a year.

Both Medical Card Schemes and PRSI Schemes start on Jan 1st each year.

We offer all patients a reduced price clean six months after their check-up. Ask for details.
